Blogoversary Prep

This shall not be an exciting post. Instead it will be a rather mind-numbing, boring post with no personality or attitude at all, and you will just have to endure it because if you don’t, you will be a quitter. They say cheaters never win, but cheaters actually do win; quitters are the ones who never win, because they don’t make it to the end. Although, they will lose with their moral superiority, but we are not here to talk about that.

We are to talk about the super boring blogoversary that’s coming up in November. And I like planning ahead which is why we’re going to talk about it even though it isn’t for two months. I don’t like procrastinating. If I could schedule my blogoversary post tomorrow, I would, except I don’t have anything ready.

You are going to help. I have decided on the things I am going to do, and you are going to help me decide on some other things pertaining to those things.

1. Q&A Video

What misfortune. You will be able to ask of me all the questions you want. Not only that, but my best friend, Elizabeth, will be guest starring because she makes me answer my questions better. You will be stuck with a complete stranger (actually, she guest posted back in March) and me, and it will be as fun as nothing.

Or I guess we could have fun. No, this is a boring post. I need to stop before I corrupt your souls. But in the event that you have a question that is fun or not, you can ask them in this form:

2. Giveaway

I will do a giveaway. Because that is so commonplace it’s almost out of style. That’s boring, right? I will be giving away a critique on ten pages of your own writing. So if you want someone to give an honest opinion of your writing and you want that someone to be me, you can enter the giveaway and then not tell anyone about the giveaway and take out your competition and then you will be guaranteed to win. Ho-hum.

3. Interactive Linkup (Maybe)

Alyssa and Cait have done this successfully in the past, but they had too much fun. And also I have no ideas. If you have had a successful interactive linkup or blog game, then tell me your stories because such a plan intimidates me. And if you have had an unsuccessful one then that might not help but it would educate me.

Mostly this has been a PSA. And a plea for questions. An insight into the surpriselessness of November. I promise we will have no fun.

Do you have any blogoversary advice related to any of these things? Tell me! (Oh no, I have used an exclamation point. I have failed my no-boringness rule. I have failed you all.)

(Side Note: This is going to be the last post for this week, so see you again on Monday! Goshdarnit, I did it again...)

  1. This post was hilarious. I'm excited about your blogoversary and meeting your best friend!!!!!! There's a teacher at school who uses excessive CAPS and ExCLAMATION MARKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it really annoys me. I'm excited, Heather, be excited!

    1. I'm excited to share it (and her) with you! :D That's really annoying, haha, but I'm glad you're excited! *follows Shanti to her hole of boredom and darkness because that was what this post was supposed to be about*

  2. I would try to comment something excited and interesting, but this is a boring post. I am bored. Why are you wasting our time. I can't use any sentence ending apart from full stops because I can't muster any enthusiasm. (Seriously though, a video with your and Elizabeth's fact would be great. And giveaways teeter close to fun, if it's international. I would participate in a linkup. Oh wait. It's too cliche and normal.)

    1. You're right. So monotony. Much dull. Full stops. Periods. All that boring stuff. (I look forward to sharing all this though, and the giveaway will totally be international because all you need is email. Although there is an English requirement. Because that is my language. Stay normal!)

  3. Sounds awesome! In a...boring sort of way? Kinda? Maybe? Okay no. Not boring. Sorry. :D Sounds like so much fun!

  4. Ah, such a boring post, Heather, lol. This was hilarious. :D

Can't wait for this blogoversary! Looks like it'll be fun... I mean completely boring and no fun at all. I can definitely wait for it. *nods*

Also, I tagged you for the One Lovely Blog Award. Like I said in the post, I don't really remember who's done it and who hasn't so this is just to let you know that I think your blog is lovely. :D

    1. Oh, good. Being boring is hard.

I definitely have been waiting FOREVER to film with Elizabeth, so you can imagine how much I can definitely wait for it, too...

Also, thanks so much for the tag! I always appreciate tags, but I've done that one already, alas. Perhaps next time. Thanks for everything, Alexa!

  5. YOU. HAVE. FAILED!!!!!!1111! Seriously, this post was so funny though? It sounded like a droning robot, which made it far too hilarious. All three of these sound extremely not-boring and very very fun. For the interactive link-up, you could just write a list of questions for people to answer, or create a short quiz like, "What is Heather's favourite animal?" for people to attempt on their own blog.

    1. It was surprisingly hard to write, so failure makes me sad. :'( JUST KIDDING. It was still hard to write but I was still trying to be funny. I will definitely consider doing something like that. I'm not sure talking about me is the interesting thing, but maybe I can share some of the questions I can't answer in the video. Thanks for the suggestion, Alyssa!

  6. The whole post I kept imagining you at your computer with the blankest face, writing "we must not have fun" over and over again. Needless to say, it was hilarious. And I'm super excited for your blogversary!

    1. It was so hard though? BECAUSE GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN AND I AM A GIRL. But I managed to be dull and funny. I look forward to my blogoversary, too! :) Thanks Victoria!

  8. Boring? HA. YOU WERE QUITE HILARIOUS HERE. Link ups are uber fun!! :D And the Q&A video sounds quite spectacular...I need to squirrel away and think of something deviously wonderful to ask.

    1. THANKS I TRIED. And yes, it is going to be the event of the year, I think. :) I can't wait to answer all the questions!

  9. *snore* Wah, wait, huh? Sorry, you exclamation marks woke me up, and I was sleeping so nicely. Boo.

Seriously, though, this was hilarious, and I'm really excited about your blogversary, especially the Q&A video. And the critique giveaway is a super smart idea--I hadn't thought about that as an option for mine, but it's a neat way to think outside the box.

    1. My apologies. I didn't mean to be entertaining.

I can't wait to answer all the questions I've gotten! And yes, others have done that, and while I cannot share money I can totally share my time. :)

  10. Ooh, a blogoversary! How fun. Wait. Not fun. Definitely no fun or excitement being had in this corner. That being said, the critique is such a good idea. I love giveaways like that. And a Q&A video will be such excellence. I shall have to think up some questions to ask you and Elizabeth. Indeed I shall. In the least fun way possible. Of course. Because there is no fun being had in this post.

    1. NO FUN. It is the law and the law is not mocked. I look forward to answering all these awesome questions, except for the fact that they cannot be awesome because everything must be boring. Right. NO FUN. NO FUN. NO FUN.

  12. This is great. Definitely did not corrupt my soul, so no problems there. :') I like Alyssa's idea of a quiz for us to answer on our blogs - it is your blogoversary after all. The giveaway idea is awesome, too bad I don't have the motivation to write ten pages of something! Can't wait to see your idea for the linkup. :)

    1. Well, darn. A quiz does sound like a lot of fun, so maybe I'll think of something! And too bad about the writing, but there shall be other ways to have fun. :D

Check it out, comments and stuff. I love to hear from readers, and I always respond to commenters! Here's the fun part—if you leave a link to your blog I'll show up and comment back. I have just one rule down here: Don't Be a Problem. This spans the entire umbrella of rudeness and crudeness, so I reiterate: Don't Be a Problem. Thanks for stopping by!
