Blogging Community Tag

Jo from The Bearable Blog has tagged me for her own Blogging Community Tag! I love admiring the people who make this community awesome, so let’s give them some LOVE.

Let us begin with the rules:

  • answer the seven questions
  • tag some folks (no particular number required)
  • link back to Jo, because even though she said it was optional that is just good manners
  • include the globe-y picture, that there one right below

In which I acknowledge some DEDICATED BLOGGERS

CAIT from PAPER FURY—some weeks she posts every day, bursting with book reviews, writerly insights, and this infectious enthusiasm that makes her fun to read (also, she’s a great reviewer, but I am not reusing bloggers)

SUSANNA at MISS ADVENTURE—she does a bunch of traveling and blogs and reads and writes, and she puts a lot of effort into the spirit of living, which I appreciate

BETH at THE QUIET PEOPLE—Beth writes a lot of reviews and shares insight into her world as a reader, teacher, and introvert, and shares her views with a gentle determination and dedicated opinion

via Youtube

In which I acknowledge BEAUTIFUL BLOG DESIGNS

IMOGEN at GOSSIPING WITH DRAGONS—I feel like you could turn that blog design into a wedding dress and get married in it and everyone would be like, “yup, that makes sense”

SUNNY at A SPLASH OF INK—I’ve followed this blog for probably over a year, and yet every time I show up to read a post I always stop to admire her heading because it’s the sort that never gets old

JAMESON at LOVELY WHATSOEVERS—to twist Galinda’s words a little: purple goes good with green, making for a very pretty, easy read

via TumblrGym

In which I acknowledge REVIEWERS AND BOOK BLOGGERS

BRETT at BRETT MICHAEL ORR—I like his reviews; they are concise and prioritized without being boring or weepy and doesn’t go on and on about details regarding something you don’t understand

ANA at BUTTERFLIES OF THE IMAGINATION—Ana doesn’t just talk about books; she talks about the culture of books and the relationships around them, so her posts are always interesting and insightful

MARIELLA at LIFE, LITERATURE, AND COFFEE—you can tell from all the interviews and reviews and interactions she throws herself into that she’s devoted to this book business

via Buzzfeed

In which I acknowledge some DEEP AND THOUGHTFUL BLOGGERS

STEPHANIE at FIREFLIES IN A JAR—even if I don’t always agree with her, she gives me things to think about regarding faith and life and all that good stuff

OPAL at OPAL SWIRLS—Opal discusses a wide range of topics, but especially when she delves into the stories of her own life and her perspective, she just makes you go “woaahhhh”

JO at THE BEARABLE BLOG—if we’re totally honest sometimes her words are so deep and thoughtful I am intimidated from leaving a comment, but she makes me think, and that is good

via Buzzfeed

In which I acknowledge BLOGS THAT ARE JUST DARN ENJOYABLE

AIMEE at TO THE BARRICADE—I like Aimee’s voice, when she talks it sounds like she’s got something to say, and always on awesome things; also, so many GIFs

ALYSSA at THE DEVIL ORDERS TAKEOUT—in other overlapping bloggers, Alyssa has a totally gorgeous blog design, but she is also witty and informative regarding culture and writing, and it is great

LIZ at OUT OF COFFEE, OUT OF MIND—the title of her blog was the real selling point for me, but she hasn’t disappointed with entertaining discussions and fascinating perspectives

via Buzzfeed

In which I acknowledge some BLOGGERS WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR

FOLKS at YAVENGERS—the idea of group blogging sounds so fun, and I think being in character and working with a lot of writers requires good humor

POOH HODGES at THE CAT WHO WRITES—except then he died and now there is no more humor for me

ALEXA at SUMMER SNOWFLAKES—she shares meaningful ideas with a pleasant tone, and demonstrates a sparkliness that makes her an enjoyable read

via Further Up & Further In

In which I acknowledge some INSPIRATIONAL BLOGS

MIRRIAM at WISHFUL THINKING—she tends to focus on writing and her life, but she also puts a spin on it that reflects a much deeper sentiment behind the idea

JOY at THE CHEERFUL CASHIER—I don’t know where I found this blog and she doesn’t post often, but when she does, she always just akldfjakldfjes my brain

TOPAZ at SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS—I feel like when she writes it’s like you’re having a conversation with someone who’s brushing her hair in the mirror; she looks at both her reflection and yours as she combs out the tangles

via ScrubsMag
There are definitely more bloggers I’d like to nominate, but 21 seems like a good place to stop for now. Thanks to Jo for giving me to opportunity to share these awesome people (all of whom you should visit, if you haven’t before) and now I want to pass on the same opportunity!

( I could not fit you into the list above, and so here you are instead!)

What are some of your favorite blogs? Share a couple with me so I can go and check them out!

  1. This is such an amazing tag (and despite me saying that, it will still take months for me to get to it. *headdesk*)

Anyhow, first off, thank you so much for mentioning me! :D :D And OMG, you had me giggling from start to finish. (My Vulcan heart cannot last long on your blog.) The globe-y picture, for one. The wedding dress comment. The cat who died (was that a joke? I couldn't tell, which made it awkwardly funny) Like you sum up every blog so perfectly I can't even. I'm definitely going to have to pick you for the great sense of humor one, even though I swear I could mention you for every single category.

    1. I really enjoyed doing it! :) I look forward to seeing yours, whenever you get around to it!

You're welcome! I really enjoy your blog, so of course it was on there. I have the skill of getting under Vulcan skin because I have two at home—I am quite annoying, and have had almost two decades of practice, so I know what works and what doesn't. The cat did actually die, but there's no reason it shouldn't be funny. XD I try to be interesting with my blog descriptions. Thanks for enjoying it, Alyssa! :D

    2. Well, I have a knack for getting into cold-dark souls and leaving sticky tape in unusual places. Look out! I hope you enjoy the blogs, and yes, the dancing puppy made me happy so I made sure to include him.

  6. That Princess Diaries gif! I love it!

So maybe I did this and put Cait under the same categories you did. But she does do amazing reviews! And I love Aimee's voice too. It's very distinct and I just love reading all her posts.

I'll definitely see about following some of these people I'm unfamiliar with. :)

I'm sure that means I'm definitely best of the best. And totally humble. We both know I'm a million percent humble. It's true. BUT ALSO SO MANY OTHER EPIC BLOGGERS HERE. I just love so many bloggers. Omg, I need to do a post like this. But I want to mention all the bloggers because mostly everyone does things awesomely these days. Gah, I love blogging. You are fabulous, Heather. YOU ARE.

    1. :D Yes, yes I did. You're definitely up there, even if I will stay unbiased and give no judgment on who may or may not be best of any bests that may or may not exist. But I would love to see what some of your favorite bloggers are, but I can imagine it would be hard to come up with a list, because there are indeed so many awesome ones! Thanks for reading, Cait. You're fabulous, too. :D

In spite of the facts that this really is an amazing tag and that I am thrilled to have been tagged, it will probably take me forever to actually post said tag. But thanks again! I'm glad my sparkliness has been enjoyable for you! :D

Check it out, comments and stuff. I love to hear from readers, and I always respond to commenters! Here's the fun part—if you leave a link to your blog I'll show up and comment back. I have just one rule down here: Don't Be a Problem. This spans the entire umbrella of rudeness and crudeness, so I reiterate: Don't Be a Problem. Thanks for stopping by!
